The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre (SRHC) is organising a Hills to the Bay Heritage Train on Saturday 30th January 2010. 

The train will depart Seymour station at 7.10 am.  Stops will be made to pick up passengers at Broadford (7.35 am), Kilmore East (7.48 am), Wallan (8.04 am), Broadmeadows (8.32 am), Essendon (8.42 am) and arrive at Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station (8.55 am).  The train will depart Southern Cross Station at 10.05 am.

A Kiosk and Bar will be in operation during the train journey ensuring that there is a range of refreshments, hot & cold drinks plus a range of beers, wines and spirits.


The train will arrive in Geelong at 11.23 am.  Passengers will then have close to 5 ½ hours to do their own thing in Geelong.  The city centre, and local attractions – the National Wool Museum, the Ford Discovery Centre and the Waterfront precinct are within easy walking distance from the Geelong railway station. The return journey will get underway with a departure from Geelong at 6.00 pm sharp. An optional Evening Meal will be served to passengers soon after departure from Geelong.  Stops will be made to set down passengers at Southern Cross Station (7.17 pm).  The train will depart Southern Cross Station at 8.10 pm and set down passengers at Essendon (8.22 pm), Broadmeadows (8.31 pm), Wallan (9.01 pm), Kilmore East (9.20 pm), Broadford (9.33 pm) and Seymour at 9.58 pm.


The train will comprise the SRHC’s heritage comfortable “E” Class passenger cars (circa 1906 to 1910).
These heritage wooden bodied carriages with their side corridor and comfortable compartment seating provide the opportunity to either relive or just experience traditional country rail travel that was prevalent in Victoria for much of the 20th Century.


The superbly restored Yarra Parlor Car will also be included in the train consist; providing passengers with an opportunity to pay a visit and inspect this unique carriage during the course of the days journey.
Once the domain of VIP’s, it will be available for inspection by all passengers.

Peninsula Coach Tour
A leisurely coach tour that takes in many of the attractions of the Bellarine Peninsula is an option that has proved to be quite popular on past tours. The cost of this option is $15 per person.

Evening Meal
An optional Meal Pack in the evening is available. These options are; Option 1 (Virginian Ham and Garden Salad), Option 2 (Seasoned Roast Chicken with Tossed Salad) or Option 3 (Zucchini Slice with Mixed Green Salad). Each option costs $15.
