BROAD GAUGE
Our carriages are from a more elegant era – the golden age of travel, with many now over 100 years old and some having been part of iconic names such as the ‘Spirit of Progress’.
From humble ‘E’ type compartment carriages, so familiar to the Victorian Network, to carriages literally built for royalty they represent over a century of travelling history. If you’re travelling with us, planning to – or perhaps planning on chartering your own train – the information below outlines the details of each carriage.
E types entered service between 1906 and 1912. S types entered service between 1937 and 1956.
All E type carriages are limited to 80kmh and S type carriages are limited to 115kmh.
NOTE: Seat numbers (where shown) and other specific details may differ from carriage to carriage. This page does not include crew cars, baggage cars, service cars, carriages undergoing restoration or not currently in service.
